Microcredentials

Microcredentials are defined as the “industry-recognised demonstration of a skill or a competency”.

Microcredentials are one of the fastest-growing industry-recognised certificates. They are tailored short courses, industry-recognised, assessments-driven, and readily accessible to learners.

The National Microcredentials Framework defines a microcredential as "a certification of assessed learning or competency, with a minimum volume of learning of one hour and less than an AQF award qualification, that is additional, alternate, complementary to or a component part of an AQF award qualification."

IIA-Australia provides microcredentials to demonstrate specific knowledge or skill set recognised by the industry. As an Internal Auditor, earning a microcredential is the best way to showcase your earned knowledge to your professional network.

Pathways:

We currently are offering microcredentials for two online training courses:

  • Fundamentals of Internal Auditing
  • Report Writing for Internal Auditors

There are two pathways available for each of the microcredential mentioned above.

Learning-based pathway:

When you enrol in any of the two online training courses, you will be provided with an opportunity to take the assessment to lead into microcredential. Upon successful completion of the assessment task(s) and being deemed competent, you will earn the “Statement of Attainment, Digital Badge” for the training course.

Assessment-based pathway:

If you have completed the courses earlier and hold the online course completion certificate from IIA-Australia, you can enrol in the assessment for microcredential. Upon successful completion of the assessment task(s) and being deemed competent, you will earn the “Statement of Attainment, Badge” for the microcredential.

Contact us at training@iia.org.au to enrol on the assessment if you have completed the training course in the past. A cost of $150 is applicable for the assessment.
