Sunshine Coast Council - Audit Committee Independent Member

The Sunshine Coast Regional Council is seeking to appoint two suitably qualified people as independent Members of its Audit Committee.

The Audit Committee is an advisory committee that reports to council and provides advice on finance, corporate governance, internal controls, risk management, compliance and oversight of internal and external audit.

The Committee meets four times per year with Committee Members receiving an annual compensation fee for advisory services. The duration of each appointment to be staggered.

About you
Appointees must demonstrate comprehensive experience in business, finance and management, a sound knowledge of internal and external audit processes, hold tertiary qualifications and membership to a relevant professional body. Such bodies may include CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.  It is desirable that applicants have knowledge and experience with the public sector. Previous experience on Boards and or Audit Committees will be highly valued.
