Auditing Transformation Project - Online Classroom

This training course will provide participants with an approach of how to assess transformation risks and the role of the assurance professional in all stages of a transformation program.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the training course, the participants will be able to:

·         Describe why business implement business transformation program and the impact it can have on the organisation.

·         Explain the risks in the building phase of a transformation program and develop appropriate mitigating strategies.

·         Explain the risks in the Implementation phase of a transformation program and develop appropriate mitigating strategies.

Transformation Program – SET-UP (The ‘Why’)

·         Definition of program vs project

·         Start with the end outcome in mind

·         Key risks impacting on transformation program

·         Role of 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines (independence vs consulting)

·         Role of assurance professional in a transformation program

Transformation Program – BUILD (The “How”)

·         Role of the assurance professional in the build phase

·         Development/participation in data migration strategy

·         Understanding of security in the design

·         Embedding of controls in the process

·         Data analytics

Transformation Program – Implementation (The “What”)

·         Role of the assurance professional in this phase

·         Performance of data migration testing

·         Independent assurance in the testing Phase

·         Participation in “go/no decision”

Transformation Program – Post Go Live

·         Review of migrated data (completeness and accuracy).

·         Review of post migration activities – warranty period

·         Post implementation review

 

 

 

Speaker Shannon Buckley PMMIA, CIA

Shannon Buckley is an expert in Writing Internal Audit Reports, communications and problem solving. He has over 20 years’ experience in auditing, risk management and commercial experience. He has written numerous articles on internal auditing and has prepared papers and reports for Audit Committees and Victorian Parliament.

He is a regular speaker on Internal Audit conferences and forums and is a tutor for the Graduate Certificate of Internal Audit. He also written the IT audit module for the Graduate Certificate. He has run many courses for the Institute and has coached and taught staff from across many multi-nationals, Public (both State and Commonwealth) Sector organisations.

 

 

Online Classroom: This full one day training program will be delivered in two 3 hour lessons (10:30am - 01:30pm AEST) over two days  on 4, 5 April using Zoom.

Registrations will be strictly limited to 12 participants to allow maximum interaction in the online environment.
