The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) ACT Chapter invites members and guests to the February Members Meeting, proudly supported by McGrathNicol.

This session will explore Climate Reporting in the Australian Public Sector, with a focus on emerging expectations, lessons learned, and insights as the Commonwealth progresses toward its Net Zero 2030 target.

Attendees will hear practical observations on how climate reporting is evolving across government entities, as well as insights from early adopters in State Govt. and the private  sector,  and what internal auditors should consider as part of their assurance and advisory roles.

Meet your panelists:

Mark Siebentritt, Global Practice Lead, Climate, Edge Impact

Dr Mark Siebentritt is the Global Climate and Nature Practice Leader at Edge Impact, where he leads teams delivering climate disclosure assessment and reporting services to a wide range of public and private sector organisations. Mark has over 25 years’ experience in the ESG and sustainability services sector, including over 17 years in climate risk, adaptation, and resilience. He has led the development of multiple climate risk and adaptation frameworks and has worked with over 150 companies and local governments across Australia and internationally over the past decade.

Wendy Emerton, Risk Manager, Australian Office of Financial Management

Wendy has over 20 years’ experience working with a range of public and private sector organisations in program and policy roles. She has worked in Australia and internationally with KPMG, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Agency for International Development. Wendy has represented the Australian Government in numerous roles and countries, including large multi-lateral fora and bilateral negotiations with a current focus on better practice governance, risk and compliance.
