Join us for the upcoming WA Members’ Meeting on IA and Ethical Dilemmas – The Human Condition on Thursday 30 July for an engaging panel discussion featuring experienced internal audit leaders who will explore the human factors behind ethical decision-making. Drawing on real-world experiences, our panel will discuss how internal auditors can navigate ethical dilemmas in an environment where technology can amplify risks, bias, and unintended consequences.

Andrea Rios, Principal Functional Internal Auditor at BHP
Andrea has worked at BHP for nearly 8 years in audit, governance and assurance and is currently their Principal Functional Internal Auditor. She has also delivered internal audit at a number of international companies including Chilean SCAI Falabella and US Walmart. Andrea brings diverse experience across a range of operating environments.
Brad Pearce, Head of Internal Audit at Landgate
Brad is the Vice Chair of the IIA WA Chapter Committee. He brings a valuable combination of Big 4 and public sector audit experience, including the Office of the Auditor General. He has experience as the CAE at Landgate and Department of Communities, is an independent ARC member of the Racing Penalties Appeals Tribunal and Deputy Chair for City of Fremantle Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee.
Christine Karagania, Head of Internal Audit at Western Power
Christine has recently taken on the role of CAE for Western Power. Previous to this, Christine has held CAE roles at the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and Department of Communities. She recently completed a two-year term as the Chair of the Western Australian Meat Industry Authority ARMC and was an IIA WA Chapter Councillor for 4 years.
Facilitator - Yulia Wood, Chief Audit Executive, Department of Health
Yulia was recently appointed as the IIA-Australia WA Chapter Council Chair. She is the CAE of the Department of Health which were the recipients of IIA-Australia's Internal Audit Team of the Year 2023 award, and an independent member of the Department of Training and Workforce Development Risk and Audit Committee. Prior to joining the WA Public Sector, Yulia worked in Risk and Audit in the WA Tertiary Education sector and with a global manufacturing company in the USA where she was an active member of the local IIA Chapter. Yulia is a Chartered Accountant and a Professional Member of IIA Australia.
