Commonwealth departments and agencies have completed the 2024-25 cycle of performance reporting and are gearing up for the next cycle. Through its performance statements audit program, the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) has reviewed and evaluated how reports can be improved, moving away from a compliance mindset, to a performance focus.
Sharing insights from the review of recent annual performance statements, including better practices, lessons learned and continuous improvement, George Sotiropoulos will share guidance for departments, agencies and their internal audit and governance functions to help the sector improve performance reporting, financial sustainability and efficiency.
