This workshop provides internal audit professionals with practical guidance on auditing artificial intelligence systems, focusing on AI governance, risk management, data integrity and ethical use of AI in organisational processes.

Tariq is a highly experienced internal audit, data and analytics professional with 20 years of corporate experience across professional services, financial services and defence. In 2023, Tariq started a boutique data, analytics and AI consultancy called RapidLynx Consulting which mainly services internal audit and risk management teams.

Prior to starting RapidLynx, Tariq spent 7 years working in internal audit at CBA and Westpac where he held Executive Manager Analytics roles. He also worked in risk consulting at PwC for several years as a data forensics specialist. Across his Big 4 banking roles, Tariq gained hands-on experience with using AI for internal audit execution and auditing the use of AI across both banks.

Since establishing RapidLynx, Tariq has worked closely with IIA-Australia, where he is a member of their AI Working Group, has authored white papers on AI and has designed and delivered AI Masterclass training. In addition to delivering public courses and presentations at conferences such as SOPAC on using and auditing AI, Tariq has also delivered in-house and customised training sessions on AI for several internal audit functions.
