Eric Wilson, CIA is Director of Internal Audit and Chief Audit Executive at Gulfport Energy Corporation, with more than 20 years of experience leading internal audit, risk management, and strategic advisory initiatives. He specializes in helping organizations translate strategy into execution through innovative audit approaches, risk‑aligned decision‑making, and strong stakeholder engagement.


Eric is an elected member of the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Global Guidance Council and a recognized thought leader in auditing organizational strategy. In 2026, he received the John B. Thurston Award for his article, “Playing the Long Game,” published in the August 2025 edition of Internal Auditor magazine, which explores practical approaches for auditing organizational strategy and strengthening long‑term business performance
