The IIA-Australia NSW Chapter are holding a presentation on 'Auditing
Organisational Culture'.
There are many ways to assess organisational
culture. It is a fundamental steppingstone to understanding other people issues
such as productivity, wellbeing and cultural safety.
The notions of
acceptable norms, values and behaviours can vary greatly in different groups.
For example, in some settings people care deeply about money while in others
they care about well-being. Values are explicitly stated in various
organisational statements. However, if not based on prior cultural learning,
they may be exposed and out of step with what people do.
Our subject
matter expert from Aboriginal Majority owned firm Curijo Pty Ltd will provide a
commentary on an approach that examines whether the desirable culture is
consistent with formal practices and informal beliefs, norms, and attitudes for
optimum efficiency and effectiveness, focusing on productive teams.
