Why is modern slavery an imperative for business? An expert will explain key concepts and trends and outline the features of an appropriate approach to assessing and addressing modern slavery risk.


During this session, we will look at modern slavery, how it relates to compliance and risk, and how it can be effectively managed.

Who should attend: Members with audit and risk responsibilities (or HR, procurement).  Modern slavery risk affects all companies with complex supply chains. High risk sectors include construction/property, FMCG/retail, manufacturing, electronics/tech, agriculture and food processing.

Annabel leads ERM advisory services in human rights, social impact and responsible sourcing.  Annabel has extensive experience advising organisations on business strategy, sustainability strategy, business and human rights, modern slavery compliance and risk, and responsible sourcing/sustainable procurement.


Prior to this, Annabel spent over 10 years leading major NGO and UN initiatives focused on preventing and responding to human trafficking and child labour, with a focus on South-East Asia. This included working directly with people and communities affected by modern slavery.
