Presenter: Stephen
Horne GAICD, FGIA, CIA, CRMA, CGAP
Stephen has already trained
over 120 Council staff and Councillors right across NSW on the new requirements
and has unparalleled practical experience with Council Audit Risk and
Improvement Committees (ARICs). Stephen is an independent member of 10 NSW
Council ARICs and is the Chair for 5 of these. He also serves on audit
committees for a Victorian Council and 4 NSW Government agencies.
Stephen was a previous CEO
of the NSWG Internal Audit Bureau and the NSW Assistant Auditor-General for
performance auditing (now being undertaken across NSW Councils).
He is a qualified Company
Director, Company Secretary and Internal Auditor. He was also a recent President
of IIA Australia, Australia’s delegate on the IIA Global Board, Chair of the
IIA’s Global Public Sector Guidance Committee and recently co-authored an
Australian 2020 best practice publication on “Effective Internal Auditing in the
Public Sector.”
Online Classroom: The content
delivered for IIA-Australia training programs in the online classroom format is
the same as what would be delivered face-to-face.
This full one day training
program will be delivered in two 3 hour sessions (10:30am - 1:30pm,
2:30pm - 5:30pm AEDT) using Zoom. Registrations will be strictly
limited to 12 participants to allow maximium interaction in the online
environment.
