Western Australia Internal Audit Conference 2014

18 - 19 September 2014, Duxton Hotel, Perth

This annual event brings together experienced speakers who will offer insight and expert guidance, providing you with a unique forum to exchange knowledge on the critical issues impacting upon the internal audit profession as well as the opportunity to network to grow your local connections.Focusing on the theme of sustaining organisations through change, this year’s program hones in on how to strengthen your internal frameworks in the face of external changes. These changes cover issues such as new legislation and technologies, uncertain market conditions and threats borne from cybercrime and Cloud computing. As a result, internal auditors need to ensure their reporting lines and decision-making is as clear as possible. In doing so they can add more than compliance: their strategic value enables the organisation to meet change head-on and create a stable operational foot.

Sessions being presented at the conference include:

- Auditing third party services
- Clearing the air on going to the Cloud
- Governance and standards guidelines – Maintaining the focus of internal audit delivering value
- Fraud perfect storm – How to steal millions and almost get away with it
- Data led audits - Using smart analytics
- Dealing with change - Finding positive energy during changing times
- Risk management - The only strategy guaranteed to fail is not taking risks
- Connecting the dots between internal audit and external audit
