Please note there is no preferred airline or travel agent for the conference. Please organise your travel with your travel agent or contact the airlines directly for bookings. Travel insurance is recommended for international delegates.

Sydney public transport options

Sydney's public transport carries millions of people around the city each and every day.  It's easy to access for visitors and very affordable.  Tickets may be purchased per ride or for multiple journeys.  There are a range of options available to get around Sydney and to the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre (SCEC). You can also plan your trip around Sydney and beyond using public transport:

Sydney Trains: Airport Link/City RailThe Airport Rail Link runs directly from the International Airport Terminal through the Domestic Terminal at Sydney Airport to the City Circle train line stopping at Central, Museum, St James, Circular Quay, Wynyard and Town Hall Stations in the city. The complete trip takes around 20 minutes with a train leaving on average every 10 minutes.

A range of ticket options apply from a single one-way ticket, CityHopper, group fares to Day Tripper tickets. A comprehensive brochure which includes all the ticket types and prices, timetable and rail map may be picked up free from rail stations in Sydney.

Once you get out of Town Hall train station, it is best to use the Monorail to get to SCEC. Monorail stops right next to the SCEC.

Sydney Monorail - The monorail is an excellent way to get around the Sydney city. The monorail stops directly next to SCEC.

Sydney Metro Light Rail  - Metro Light Rail links the hub of Central Station and Sydney's inner western suburbs via Haymarket, Pyrmont, Glebe and Rozelle.

Sydney buses - the Sydney Buses network runs all over the central business district (CBD) and suburbs of reginal New South Wales (NSW) and other States.

There is a taxi rank located right on the doorstep of Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. You could also book through the following websites:

A taxi fare between airport and SCEC is approximately $45.00

To assist you, the driving directions from Sydney international airport to SCEC are:
  • Depart from the International Departure Terminal
  • Turn right onto Qantas Drive. This road connects into Joyce Drive and then into General Holmes Drive. Follow General Holmes Drive until you reach Southern Cross Drive. Turn left onto Southern Cross Drive. (5 minutes, 2.5 kms)
  • Southern Cross Drive connects into South Dowling Street. Follow South Dowling Street until you reach Cleveland Street. Turn left at Cleveland Street. (10 minutes, 5kms)
  • Follow Cleveland Street until you reach Abercrombie Street. Turn right at Abercrombie Street. (7 minutes, 3.5kms)
  • Abercrombie Street connects into Wattle Street. Follow Wattle Street until you reach Pyrmont Bridge Road. Turn right at Pyrmont Bridge Road. (5 minutes, 2.5kms)
  • Pyrmont Bridge Road connects into Darling Drive. The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is located on your left hand side after the first roundabout. (5 minutes, 1.5kms)
  • Carparking is available underneath the Exhibition Centre on Darling Drive.

Where can I store my luggage on the last day?

Your hotel will  be able to store luggage for you at the concierge desk. There will be no luggage storage at SCEC.
