Special Interest Groups

Associated with the IIA are several active networks in specialist areas of internal auditing. Where appropriate, members are invited to attend these networking events and discussion groups.

In addition to the groups outlined below, ad hoc special interest forums can be convened to tackle issues affecting a particular discipline or sector.

Audit Executive Network

An Audit Executive Network (AEN) operates in each Chapter. This network is designed for auditors who are the most senior audit professional in their organisation. Chapters (with the support of the National Office) generally convene two AEN meetings per year.

These invitation-only meetings provide an opportunity for audit executives to engage in peer-to-peer discussion on current issues and future trends affecting the profession.

Young IIA

Designed specifically for internal auditors and risk practitioners who are 35 or under, or who have less than 5 years internal audit experience, the Young IIA-Australia network aims to provide a valuable networking forum tackling issues and topics facing young professionals as they develop their career.
Young IIA-Australia currently operates through the New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria Chapters only.

Financial Services Group

The New South Wales Chapter operates a special interest group for IIA-Australia members working in the financial sector.

Invitation-only meetings are held several times a year.
